Javier Bardem In Talks For Darren Aronofsky’s Next

Even the best of directors turn out a clunker every now and then, and with movies like Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler and Black Swan on his resume, it is easy to give Darren Aronofsky a pass on 2014’s Noah and instead focus on his next film. And that project is starting to look pretty promising. It has been already reported that Jennifer Lawrence has been signed on to play the lead in this unnamed project, and now we have word as to whom she may starring opposite.

Variety is reporting that Javier Bardem is in talks to co-star in the film, though there was the usual caveats of everyone’s representatives and studio Paramount declining comment.

The trade states that the film’s story “centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.”

There is no word yet as to whether Bardem will be playing one half of the couple with Lawrence or if he is one of the uninvited guests. Given his performance as the cold-hearted killer in No Country For Old Men, here’s hoping for Lawrence’s sake that he is her husband in this and not one of the disruptive guests.

Previously, Aronofsky had been developing several other projects before deciding on this one to move forward with. It is unknown if he will return to the untitled Evel Knievel biopic which would have starred Channing Tatum and a family film that he was working on after he finishes this current project.
