December and January are the times when everyone seems to be releasing their “Best of the year” lists and actress Olivia Munn is apparently no exception. Over on her Instagram account, Munn is counting down the five favorite moments of the year, and clocking at number 4 is “Getting to play Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse.”
Outside of a quick shot in the teaser trailer that 20th Century Fox released last month and some behind the scenes pictures, we haven’t got a really good look at Munn in costume, so this in a way makes up for the omission. Interestingly, this costume looks fairly close to how the character appears in the comics, a reversal for a franchise that has normally stayed away from translating the the sartorial choices of the comics into real world version.
In case you weren’t sure what this latest installment of the X-Men franchise was going to be about, here is the official synopsis –
Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27.
