Natalie Portman is currently in production on Jackie, a biopic that focuses on the life of Jacqueline Kennedy following the assassination of her husband President John F. Kennedy. As First Lady, Kennedy helped set a standard for style at the White House that has seldom been equaled.
Presidental history buffs might recognize the red dress Portman is wearing as a recreation of the one designed by Chez Ninon that the First Lady wore for the historic television special that she hosted that gave American viewers a close-up and personal tour of the White House.
JAckie is being directed by Pablo LarraĆn, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his film No in 2012. This will be his first English-language film. The script is by Noah Oppenheim and was featured on the 2010 Black List.
The cast also includes Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, and John Hurt. Jackie is set for release later next year.
