Yesterday we got our first, albeit not very clear or detailed, look at Benedict Cumberbatch on location in Nepal for the shooting of Marvel Studio’s Doctor Strange. It seems to have opened up a floodgate of set pictures that have shown up over the last day. Once more we see Cumberbatch in beard, slightly tattered clothes and a backpack. I think it is a safe assumption to make that this is from early in the character’s origin story where he is traveling the world, trying to find meaning for his life following a car accident which robbed him of his ability to perform the delicate surgeries he had built his career as a medical doctor on. It is around this point that he will meet the mystic known only as The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) who begins tutoring him in the various ways of magic and sorcery. Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkselsen, and Michael Stuhlbarg round out the films cast.
