We’re forty-two days out from the Thursday of Star Wars: The Force Awakens opening weekend and Disney has released five new posters highlighting specific characters from the film, specifically Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, Carrie Fisher’s Leia, Daisy Ridley’s Rey, John Boyega’s Finn and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren. Interestingly enough, no look at Mark Hammil’s Luke Skywalker. That is a move that is sure to fuel the ongoing internet rumor mill about the character’s continuing absence from the upcoming film’s marketing. This poster release does, though, give us our first good look at Carrie Fisher as Leia. Interestingly, the background of the Leia poster is reminiscent of the Yavin IV command center seen in the very first Star Wars film, suggesting that she is still hard at work with the New Republic in a similar military command position.
