SUPER TROOPERS 2 Finally Shooting Right Meow!

Super Troopers 2

After years of fans waiting and pleading for it to happen and a successful crowdfunding campaign to pay for it all, the guys in the Broken Lizard comedy troupe have started production on Super Troopers 2.

Group member Erik Stolhanske broke the news this morning on Facebook, with this picture of himself and cast mate Kevin Heffernan, who is rocking the same mustache he did for the first film.

Almost since its release in 2002, fans have been looking for the Broken Lizard guys to return to their rowdy Vermont State Trooper characters for a followup. A number of dates were announced as possible shooting starts, but nothing ever came about. Eventually it was revealed that a “legal thing” between the group and Fox Searchlight that was partially responsible for the delay. The group raised the money for the production earlier this year in an IndieGoGo campaign that met its $2 million goal in just 26 hours.

It is hard to believe that it has been five years since the group has last been on the big screen together in 2010’s The Slammin’ Salmon. Over that time they have doe a standup tour and worked with each others on a number of solo projects while developing a number of things for the group to do.
