While I am generally not much of a fan of teaser trailers for actual trailers, Monday’s short video promoting the release of the first full length Deadpool trailer did do a good job of conveying the comic book source material’s irreverent, fourth-wall-breaking tone. And the trailer itself, which premiered on last night’s Conan on TBS, reinforces that impression.
It is basically the same trailer that premiered last month at San Diego Comic Con, or so I’ve heard as I certainly wouldn’t have watched the phone cam footage of that trailer as that would be wrong. Ahem. Anyway, there are two flavors of the trailer. A green band, safe for all ages one and a red band trailer that probably presents a slightly more realistic view of the language and violence one should expect from the film.
Deadpool opens opens February 12, 2016.
