With shooting set to commence in November in London, Marvel Studios is stepping up the process of casting for their Doctor Strange comic book adaption with Rachel McAdams reportedly being in early talks for the lead female role in the film.
While there is no mention of the character’s name, the role could very well be that of Clea, the apprentice, and eventual lover, of the titular Sorcerer Supreme, who will be played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
The news comes buried in an LA Times interview with the actress from the weekend and even she cautions that getting the role may not come to pass.
[I]t’s still super-early days, and I don’t know where that’s gonna go, if it’s gonna go anywhere at all.
Outside of Cumberbatch’s casting though there have been no official word as to who else will appear in the film. Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor have reportedly landed roles, but Marvel has yet to confirm.
