With all the superhero action that is about to be unleashed in theaters this summer, let’s not forget that next year will see the latest installment of the X-Men franchise, Apocalypse. Director Bryan Singer is about to let you forget that and released the first look at Kodi Smit-Phee as mutant teleporting hero Nightcrawler on Instagram last night. The official X-Men franchise twitter account followed up with a similar post. oth posts seem to have since disappeared relatively quickly, perhaps just like the teleporting hero himself, but we got screengrabs of each.
Apocalypse will mark the first time that the Nightcrawler character has appeared in a franchise film since 2003’s X-Men 2, when the fan favorite was played by Alan Cumming.
X-Men: Apocalypse stars James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee, Ben Hardy as Angel and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
