Another Avenger Heading To CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (Spoiler)

CapAmCivilWar

If one were to consider next summers’ Captain America: Civil War a direct sequel to next week’s The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, you could be forgiven. First off, it had long been thought that if Marvel Studios was going to adapt the Marvel Comics Civil War storyline, it would be in the context of an Avengers film due to size of the superhero cast needed to tell the story. And indeed they are rolling out a number of the other heroes of their cinematic universe to appear including – Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Falcon and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye in addition to introducing Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther. And maybe Spider-Man.

And now we have another hero joining the film’s ever-expanding cast. I’m not sure if the identity of that hero is a spoiler for Age Of Ultron, so if you would rather not know, turn back now.

While appearing at a promotional event at the London Apple Store, Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomer Elizabeth Olsen was asked if her Age Of Ultron character Scarlet Witch would be appearing in Captain America: Civil War. Stating that she would be reporting for filming in Atlanta in two weeks, she shrugged and said “I guess I’m allowed to talk about that now.”

If you are familiar with the comics version of the Civil War storyline, you may find a clue as to why the character will be appearing the Captain America threequel, though I can’t say, or even hint, for certain as the critics screening for the film I will be attending is still a few days away.
