It seems that the legions of faithful that made Marvel Studios a box office juggernaut are still reserving judgment on Ant-Man. Instead of rushing to embrace the film as they do with many of the studio’s output, they are taking a “wait and see” philosophy to the film. Well, we got to see a little more of the film, as a new, full length trailer has been released:
Personally, while the last trailer got me excited for the film, this one left me a bit cold. For me, it comes down to an issue of tone. It doesn’t seem from the clip that Peyton Reed has struck the right balance between the humor and the rest of the film. I recognized the jokes when I saw them, but I didn’t really find them funny in context. And I am already sick of the “I didn’t pick the name” bit and its only been used in two trailers.
But I am a cynical old man. Your mileage may vary. Let us know what you think in the comments.
Well, now I think it might not suck. Going to remain open-minded on this one.
