It was a given that Chris Hemsworth appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend would generate a sketch spoofing his role of Thor in Marvel Studios’ superhero movies. It pretty much is standard operating procedure whenever a star in a popular movie or TV series hosts the show a parody of that franchise gets rolled out. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they are bad. This one, which depicts a news report covering the aftermath of the Avengers fight with Ultron in the upcoming The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, kind of lands in the middle with an interesting premise and a couple of good gags. While not the best film-related bit the show has done in recent seasons, it is still better than the sketch done when Hemsworth’s Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner hosted the show a few years back.
