CITIZENFOUR, LIFE ITSELF, JODOROWKY’S DUNE, More On Oscar Documentary Shortlist

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced the documentary films that have made this year’s short list for consideration for nomination for the Best Documentary Feature for this year’s Academy Awards.

The fifteen films on this list are those that survived from the initial list of 134 eligible films.

There’s a number of worthy films on the list. It is probably far still early to declare any title a frontrunner, Citizenfour may be one film to watch this season having just won the Best Documentary award from the New York Film Critics Circle and at the Gotham Awards.

The final nominations will be announced on January 15, with the Academy Award ceremony set for February 22.
