First ANT-MAN Easter Egg Spotted

Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man has been in production for all of a week now and there have been a number of pictures showing star Paul Rudd on location in San Francisco that have been making the rounds. I haven’t posted any outside of the official picture that Marvel released as they were all pretty much Rudd in civilian clothes on a sidewalk or in an alleyway. We’re waiting for our first look at Rudd in his Ant-Man costume. But the folks over at Cosmic Book News spotted something in one of the pictures that was definitely worth bringing to your attention.

See that advertisement on the wall behind Rudd in the picture below? Does it look familiar? If you’re thinking that it is the same brand of South American soda that Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) accidentally tainted with his gamma-irradiated blood and made Stan Lee sick in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, you would be correct. (For comparison’s sake, there’s also the clip from the film featuring the scene in question.)

Marvel has pioneered having characters and plotlines cross between films in order to make a larger, more complex tapestry for their stories, but it is the smaller details like this scattered throughout the films that really give an extra layer of texture to everything. Perhaps this will become their version of Quentin Tarantino’s Red Apple Cigarettes.
