SDCC: Kevin Smith Premiers TUSK trailer

KevinSmith

Kevin Smith is known mainly for his string of indie comedies, but those who have seen his 2011 film Red State know that he has a largely untapped flair for horror and suspense. Smith has gone back to that well for Tusk, the story of a podcaster who has an interview turn horribly wrong on him, a story that started off as a discussion on one of Smith’s podcasts. The results, at least what we see below, are fairly impressive. Smith’s humor hasn’t completely deserted him for the film though. Take note of the shot of the two female Canadian convenient store clerks. The wall behind them is completely filled with just maple syrup and the store they work at is called “Eh 2 Zed.”

Tusk hits theaters September 19.
