SDCC: Gareth Edwards Lets Know When To Expect GODZILLA 2 And Who Might Be Showing Up

Godzilla

Godzilla director let the world know when to expect him to deliver the sequel to this summer’s big hit Godzilla and what other kaiju might be showing up for the film.

Edwards stated in a video played at the San Diego Comic Con that he couldn’t be at the show due to his work on “a small little sci-fi movie,” but “as soon as that’s over will be Godzilla 2.”

That “little sci-fi movie” he’s referring to, of course, is the first Star Wars spin-off film that Disney has scheduled for release in 2016. So conceivably that puts the Godzilla sequel coming out sometime in 2018 at the earliest.

And as to who may be joining the Big G on the big screen, Edwards hints that it will be some familiar faces, “Toho’s been great to us and now we have more monsters to play with.” Specifically, Rodan, Mothra, and Ghidorah.
