Two months to go before director Bryan Singer’s return to the X-Men franchise, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, hits the screens and Fox has released anew trailer for the film. Right off the bat, the 2 minute, 38 second clip sets up the film’s dark tone and time travel premise for those unfamiliar with the classic comics storyline on which it is based, both through some blatant dialogue and the more subtle dissolves between dystopian future Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian MMcKellen) and their past selves (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender respectively). Once the preview kicks into high gear, we get glimpses of a number of mutant heroes and villains including Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Storm (Halle Berry), (Rogue) Anna Paquin, (Iceman) Shawn Ashmore, Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Blink (Fan Bingbing), Bishop (Omar Sy) and Quicksilver (Evan Peters). We also get to see our first look at the robotic Sentinels in action.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past opens May 23.
It looks pretty good, but I’ve learned a long time ago that almost anybody can make a good two-minute trailer from a two-hour movie even if that movie isn’t all that great. But I remain hopeful.
This has been going on so long they’re about to have the same problem as Game of Thrones with the kids. Wolverine is going to start aging.
Looks good, although I’m not digging the anorexic Sentinel…
Especially since we saw what a Sentinel should look like at the beginning of X3.
(Which, ironically, was the ONLY good part of X3.)

I am stoked for this, despite not making this Kitty-centric as it should have been.
I agree, it would have been a great showcase for Ellen Page.
