We all knew this day was coming. Four months after Paul Walker’s untimely death, production on the franchise that made him a start about to resume.
The Hollywood Reporter states that production on Fast and Furious 7 on or around April 1st 2014. Almost half the filming was done before the production went on hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday, a hiatus that was extended due to Walker’s death in a car crash in Valencia, California.
Shooting will take place in Atlanta, Georgia and will take from six to eight weeks to complete, giving director James Wan plenty of time to make the April 10, 2015 release date.
Rumor had it that part of the delay was due to reviewing the footage already shot to find a way to remove Walker from the franchise in a tasteful, yet permanent way.
The franchise has made over $2 billion worldwide, with its most recent installment, Fast and Furious 6, earning more than $788 million of that total.
