If you’re like me, you can’t wait for 2015 to arrive so you can get a look at The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Luckily, thanks to that wonderful thing called “corporate synergy,” we are going to be getting a look much earlier. How early? How about next month?
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that ABC, which, like Marvel Studios, is owned by Disney, will be airing Marvel Studios: Assembling the Universe, and hour-long special about the rise of the studio on Tuesday, March 18th at 8pm.
The special promises unseen clips from the two Marvel films coming out this year, Captain America: Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy, and a “sneak peek” at The Avengers: Age of Ultron. And, much like those time-share condos that lure you in with a free vacation then try to sell you a condo package, ABC will be using the special to also promote their Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Marvel tie-in TV series that started strong but faded fast. So expect the majority of the special to be devoted to that.
As to what to expect from the sneak peek, well, since the film only just started shooting, I wouldn’t expect any film clips at this point. Perhaps some shots from the shooting location and interviews with the principles, if that.
