ANCHORMAN 2 Going R-Rated For One Week

Adam McKay is making good on his promise from a few months back and is delivering an alternate cut of his Will Farrell comedy Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, featuring, if we are to believe the trailer below (courtesy Coming Soon), 763 new jokes. That’s a pretty impressive number though I suspect in reality it is probably closer to the 250 jokes that McKay estimated back before the first cut of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues was released.

The new Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R Rated Version will be hitting theaters next Friday, February 28, for a limited, one-week long engagement.

Studio Paramount has also released one of the new scenes, an alternate version of one which we saw in the theaters. If my memory is correct, this contains material that was in one of the film’s trailers. In fact, there was much material in the trailers that didn’t make it into the finished product, so I wouldn’t be surprised if at least some of that material is prominent among the changes we’ll see. Perhaps we’ll finally get to see that big, disco-y looking musical number that was hinted at in a few of the trailers.
