Even without any official confirmation, we know that Kevin Smith would not be moving forward with plans for a third Clerks film if the core cast – Brian O’Halloran and Jeff Anderson – were not board for returning to New Jersey’s most famous convenience store. And now we know that one more previously seen character will behind the counter – Rosario Dawson.
The actress confirmed to Den of Geek that she would be returning to reprise her role of Becky, the upbeat girlfriend and counterpoint to perpetual sad sack Dante (O’Halloran). Unfortunately, she is unsure as to when filming would commence on the project. Previously Smith stated that he was hoping to get the film in front of cameras by the spring in order to have the film in theaters by November 2014 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film. That’s an ambitious timeline, but hopefully Smith will be able to stick to it.
