Brit Actor Jack O’Connell Rumored For STAR WARS: EPISODE VII Lead

Time to add another name to the Star Wars: Episode VII casting rumor list.

This time it’s Jack O’Connell. While they can’t fully confirm that he is in contention for a lead role, Bleeding Cool is citing their story from “two very dependable voices.” They also aren’t able to confirm exactly which role he may be up for.

O’Connell isn’t much of a name on this side of the Atlantic, but in England he is probably best known for his role on the series Skins. He has also appeared in the movies Tower Block, Harry Brown and next year’s 300: Rise of an Empire. He joins a legion of other British actors including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Cumberbatch, Matt Smith, Rachel Hurd Wood and Jason Flemyng who have been mooted for possible roles in the film.

Production is scheduled to begin early next year for a December 18, 2015 release.
