TED 2 Gets A Release Date

As if we didn’t have enough films to look forward to in 2015, we can add another one to the list.

Universal has announced that Ted 2 will be released on June 26, 2015. Both Seth MacFarlane and Mark Wahlberg are set to return for the sequel, which will be written by MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesly Wild. The release date mirrors the June 29, 2012 release date of the original Ted.

As things stand now, Ted 2 will arriving smack dab in the middle of a crowded summer. While it currently has the June 26 weekend to itself, it hits theaters two weeks after Universal’s Jurassic World, one week after Pixar’s Inside Out, just days before Paramount’s Terminator reboot and a week before Fox’s Independence Day 2. You can say that Ted 2 is unique enough to carve out a niche amongst those other blockbusters, but it will be hard for it to get more than one week at the top of the box office.
