He may have shepherded last summer’s comedy Horrible Bosses to box office strong enough for studio New Line to give the go-ahead for a sequel, but director Seth Gordon is not on board for the currently planned sequel.
Deadline is reporting that Gordon has departed the project, citing “scheduling conflicts” as the reason for his departure. Currently Gordon is exec-producing the new ABC sitcom The Goldbergs and will be directing his Horrible Bosses stars Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis in One Night On The Hudson for Universal. I’m not sure how much time the Goldbergs gig is taking up, but since Day and Sudeikis can’t be filming two movies at once, I don’t see how One Night On The Hudson could be too much of a conflict with Horrible Bosses 2.
Meanwhile, New Line is beginning the search for a replacement for Horrible Bosses 2‘s directors chair.
