Keanu Reeves Offers A BILL & TED 3 Screenplay Update

BillAndTed

Recently on an episode on the Nerdist podcast, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure star Alex Winter noted that since news broke that work on a script for a third installment of the science-fiction-comedy franchise was being done, it meant that every torturous step of the development process was going to be fodder for the internet. Well, here’s the latest installment of that.

While at the Summer TV Critics Association Press Tour to promote this fall’s airing of his documentary Side By Side on PBS, Winter’s Bill & Ted co-star Keanu Reeves was (unsurprisingly) asked about the status of the threequel’s script. He stated –

There’ve been a couple of drafts now. And we’re waiting on the writers to come up with another draft. Which we’re all looking forward to.

The screenplay is being written by Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, the writers who created the franchise and wrote the previous two installments. It had been previously reported that the story will focus on the two time-traveling metal heads dealing with writer’s block due to the knowledge that they are destined to write a song that will shape the future.
