Sylvester Stallone has turned The Expendables franchise into an ongoing reunion of action heroes from the 1970s and `80s with some of their more recent counterparts. And now Stallone has bagged one of the biggest stars of that earlier action ear – Harrison Ford.
Stallone took to Twitter today to announce the news –
WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!

While we don’t know what role Ford will be playing in the sequel, it looks like he will be replacing Bruce Willis on the film’s cast budget line. He’ll be joining a cast of returning, attached and rumored actors that include Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Mel Gibson, Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal and Wesley Snipes. Now that is a hell of a line up.
Ford seems to be have energized himself recently. He’ll be appearing in the upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Coontinues as well as Star Wars: Episode VII. He also has been recently quoted on the press tour for next week’s thriller Paranoia as saying that he would be up for a fifth Indiana Jones film. Not bad for a 71-year-old.
The Expendables 3 is set for release on August 15, 2014.
