Despite what you may feel about any one of the Star Wars films, there has always been one consistent element of quality, and that has been their musical scores as provided by composer John Williams. And that looks like it will continue with the new trilogy being prepared by Lucasfilm under director J. J. Abrams. In pre-recorded video announcement played today at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Germany, Williams confirmed that he would be returning to the franchise to score Episodes VII through IX.
The announcement doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Abrams stated back in April that he fully expected to have Williams once again contributing to the franchise.
And while we wait for the 2015 unveiling of Episode VII, here is John Williams conducting the Boston Pops in a performance of the music that one him one of his five Academy Awards.
