Comic and actor Richard Lewis has signed onto director Peter Bogdanovich’s new comedy Squirrels To The Nuts.
Lewis is set to play the father of the main character, a hooker turned Broadway star. Also in the cast are Cybil Shepherd as Lewis’s character’s wife/the mother of the female lead, Owen Wilson as the married director of her Broadway show who falls for her and Jennifer Aniston as his analyst.
This marks Bogdanovich’s first theatrical feature film since 2001’s underrated The Cat’s Meow. Since then, he directed the music documentary Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers: Runnin’ Down A Dream, an episode of The Sopranos and two made for television movies.
The film is currently shooting in New York City for release next year.
