We knew that when Benicio Del Toro was hired by Marvel, he was hired for a number of films. We just didn’t know they’d start this early.
Clive Russell was at the London Film and Comic Con where he happened to be interviewed by Jan Gilbert of Flick and the City. Gilbert asked Russell and innocuous question about how he dealt with the numerous acting style on display on the set of Thor: The Dark World, where he plays Tyr, the Asgardian God of War. Russell makes a point of singling out Benicio Del Toro, saying that even though that on set he couldn’t hear say his dialogue, everything expected on the performance is there on the screen.
Problem is, Del Toro was supposed to have made his Marvel Films debut as the Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy. There was nothing saying that he was in the Thor sequel…until now that is.
So, it appears that the Collector will be in Thor: The Dark World as well. Perhaps collecting Thor to fight Thanos, maybe? Russell did add that Del Toro’s character was supposed to be very angry.
I guess we’ll find out in November when Thor: The Dark World opens.
