It’s going to be a bad couple days here at FBOL if your name begins with “El” and ends with “Mayimbe.” For one, because we have word of another of the Latino Review’s “scoops” will not come to pass.
Back in March, El Mayimbe stated that Christopher Nolan, Zack Snyder and Christian Bale will all be involved with the Justice League film. Big news, right?
Well, it was until Entertainment Weekly confirmed with Nolan’s people that he wasn’t involved with the film. Now the magazine has dispelled the Christian Bale rumor directly from the actor’s mouth during a press junket for Bale’s latest film, Out of the Furnace.
About the end of his run as Batman:
We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy. Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying ‘We’re about to make the third.’ We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well.
About Justice League:
I have no information, no knowledge about anything. I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it.
About the role itself:
It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.
So, there you have it. No one has approached Bale about the film, and he’s not likely to come back even if they do. So, rumor: debunked. At least El Mayimbe was right about Zack Snyder. That should count for something, right?

This doesn’t really surprise me. As much as I loved him in the Dark Knight films, I didn’t expect him to be involved in Justice League. But I was thinking along the lines of him maybe being too expensive. But I guess he took the modest route and “passed the torch”.
