Sandra Bullock has once again walked from negotiations that would have seen her star in the new film version of the Broadway musical Annie as the evil orphanage operator Miss Hannigan. She was originally discussion the role with producers back in March before dropping out of the project only to have it reported last week that she had resumed talks to appear in the film. The Hollywood Reporter is now stating that these talks were just at “an embryonic stage” and have now ended with Bullock declining to go further. There is no word as to what sticking points in the negotiations may have lead to this.
Director Will Gluck is now left to restart his search for an actress to fill the role. Whomever is cast will star opposite Quvenzhane Wallis as the titular plucky orphan.
