Robert Redford gets cast in Captain America: The Winter Soldier , Glenn Close gets cast in Guardians of the Galaxy. I can’t wait to see what Marvel film gets Robert DeNiro, Meryl Streep and Al Pacino.
Deadline is reporting that the Oscar nominated actress is close to signing on to play the head of the Nova Corps in the James Gunn directed film. The Nova Corps appear to be the interstellar replacement for S.H.I.E.L.D., so that means Close will be playing their version of Nick Fury.
While one typically associates Close with dramatic fare such as Fatal Attraction, The World According to Garp, and Dangerous Liasons, she has played sci-fi before (Mars Attacks!), summer blockbusters (Air Force One), kid-friendly films (101 Dalmations) and TV police procedurals where she played a position of authority (The Shield). So, in other words, Guardians of the Galaxy has just become 1,000 times better.

Ohh I hope
This would be sweet.
So Marvel beats DC to the first true team up flick, and seems to be beating them in assembled talent. Think DC will just give up when Avengers 2 rolls around and they still havent done JLA?
