ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Movie Still At Least A Year Away

In just a few short weeks, a new season of episodes of the comedy Arrested Development will debut you Netflix. Given that they are part of a new, high profile initiative from the streaming service to develop new content, fans are pretty excited at being able to spend more time with the dysfunctional Bluths. But series creator Mitchell Hurwitz has always been open that these new episodes were just a set-up for a hoped for feature film.

And now that the new season is a reality, star Jason Bateman has indicated when we should possibly expect the film. Speaking with iamROGUE.com, Bateman said, “there’s probably gonna be about a year, maybe a year-and-a-half gap between the [season and movie].” The actor states that the studio is just starting to work on the deal for the film.

Although a critical darling during its original three year run on FOX, Arrested Development never grew much of an audience outside of a small, devoted following. To see the franchise continue on like this has been one of the more interesting ongoing entertainment stories.
