Gary Oldman is moving from Gotham City to San Francisco. The Dark Knight trilogy co-star has signed to play a lead in Twentieth Century Fox’s Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.
In this sequel to 2011’s Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, Oldman will be playing the leader of the human resistance trying to win back the planet from the intelligent apes who took over at the end of the last film.
Oldman’s hiring is the third in eight days at the film gears up for a spring start of production. Previously, Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee have been signed to the film while Rise star Andy Serkis will be returning to once again provide a motion capture performance for Caesar, the first of the genetically modified apes to rise up.
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes is set for release on May 23, 2014.
