Universal Developing GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS Remake

HowtheGrinchStoleChristmasUniversal is looking at bringing Dr. Seuss’s classic 1957 holiday tale How The Grinch Stole Christmas back to the theaters. This time the studio is planning on a 3D animated version of the story. They’ve set commercials and music video director Peter Candeland to direct.

Well, I guess if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Sure the 2000 live action version of Seuss’s classic tale did $260 million at the box office, it did not score well with critics. Will a new version fare better? It’s hard to say. No writer has been attached to the film yet. And when one is found, they’ll have to find a way to expand a story out from the original children’s book that seemed to fit just fine into a half-hour animated special the way it did for the 1966 classic.
