AVENGERS Cinematographer Coming Back For Sequel

Cinematographer Seamus McGarvey has turned out to be a font of information. While talking to The Playlist about his work on this week’s new release Anna Karenina, he has also dropped information on both the new American Godzilla film and that he has been asked back to shoot the sequel to this past summer’s blockbuster The Avengers.

Well, you know, I’m not really allowed to talk about these things. They make us sign these ridiculous nondisclosure agreements… [Avengers director] Joss [Whedon] and I have been talking about Avengers 2… We got along great on the first one and I hope that all works out.

We can probably take this as an indication that Whedon is looking to bring back the key creative personnel for the sequel. Nice to see that he’s keeping the winning team together.

I have to give points to McGarvey for keeping his resume varied. Besides Godzilla, The Avengers and Anna Karenina he also has shot such varied films as We Need to Talk About Kevin, High Fidelity and Atonement.
