The Briefest Of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Clips On Conan

I’m not sure what J. J. Abrams loves more – Keeping secrets about the films he’s working on or teasing out little bits about those secrets.

Last night the director of Star Trek Into Darkness was a guest on the Conan O’Brien show and brought a short clip from the upcoming sequel with him. How short a clip? Exactly three frames worth or about one-tenth of a second.

As Abrams explains in the set-up this is Spock in a “volcano suit” in a volcano. It may not reveal much new, but it does confirm what was being reported about some set photos that circulated awhile back. Of course, it has absolutely no context, so there are no real story spoilers. But I do believe Conan was right when he said that “The internet is going to lose their minds.” At the least, it does have my curiosity piqued a bit more for the films May 17, 2013 release.
