I wanted to like Ridley Scott’s Prometheus more than I did but found myself frustrated by many of the small gaps that appeared in the narrative. I’m not talking about the mysteries purposely left vague by screenwriter Damon Lindelof. Instead I’m referring to missing moments that would have better informed some of the character, story and thematic elements that Scott was exploring.
Judging from the titles of the deleted scenes that should be appearing in the upcoming DVD and blu-ray release, it looks as if there will be some filling in of those gaps. Unfortunately, none of these 35 minutes or so of new footage is to be edited back into the film itself, so it falls upon the viewer to assemble the puzzle in their mind’s eye.
This is the list of deleted scenes as approved by the British Board of Film Classification for the British release of the film. There is no reason to believe that there will be any difference for the US release.
