Gary Ross Heading For Neverland With PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS

Director Gary Ross has picked another project that may be his first post-Huger Games film. This one is an adaption of the Dave Barry and Ridley Person novel Peter And The Starcatchers, a prequel to Peter Pan. Ross is currently in negotiations with Disney to direct the film.

Currently Jesse Wigutow is writing the script which tells the story of a young boy named Peter who, along with his friend Molly, discover a mysterious trunk on board a ship called the Never Land headed to a land ruled by the evil King Zarboff and which they must keep from falling into the clutches of the sinister Black Stache (Spoiler – The currently two-handed future Captain Hook).

The 2004 book was previously adapted by Disney into a Broadway musical which recently won five Tony awards.

Ross is also attached to a film that casts the great escapist Harry Houdini as a spy.
