New Releases: July 13

Ice Age: Continental Drift (Fox, 3,880 Theaters, 94 Minutes, Rated PG): The Ice Age is the stealth computer animated franchise. It has been around for ten years, this is its fourth installment, but I keep forgetting it is still a going concern. I have seen at least two of the films, but the all run together for me.

But not everyone has this problem, apparently, because they still keep making them. And they have kept the same cast for all four installments. That’s a pretty big deal nowadays.

The boys are back and are dealing with the continents breaking apart and spreading out across the globe. This causes them to be separated from their loved ones. Their attempts to make it back home are complicated by a run-in with a bunch of pirates. Before you complain that the pirates are anachronistic, realize that the continental shifts happened a million years before the ice age. Keeping an accurate timeline, they’re not.
