New Releases: May 4

1. The Avengers (Disney, 4,349 Theaters, 142 Minutes, Rated PG-13): So, I don’t know what to say here. The film has got a 92% Fresh rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. Advance screenings have already sold out. It’s tracking to be the biggest opening weekend in quite some time. So, there really is nothing I could say to get you to see this film that everything listed above couldn’t.

I am serenely calm on the eve of my seeing it (assuming I will be able to. I’m going to a 9:40 showing. If that is sold out, I might never get to see it). As I’ve said elsewhere on the site, The Avengers is my favorite comic book of all time. Now that I am less than 24-hours from seeing it, I am at peace. I really don’t know why because I shouldn’t be, but I am.

I’ll probably be bouncing off the walls tomorrow morning though.
