Wyatt and Theron’s AGENT 13 Finds A Home

Agent 13, the secretive project from Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt and Charlize Theron that we told about last week, has found a studio. Universal has picked up the project and is currently in the process of finalizing a deal.

Hollywood Reporter, who is bringing us the news of the purchase, also states that the project will be based on a fairly obscure book and comic series from the 1980s. Published by role-playing game company TSR between 1986 and 1988, Agent 13 was a series of both prose and graphic novels depicting the 1930s-set adventures of a master spy known only as Agent 13 who is determined to stop an evil organization known as The Brotherhood to which he once belonged.

The lead character will remain male, so Theron’s involvement will be in another role. Based on the cover to one of the books at left, it looks out as if Theron could be eyeing the role of Maggie Darr, one of Agent 13’s top operatives.
