THE WOLVERINE Set For August Shoot In Australia

Well, at least Hugh Jackman won’t have that far to drive to go to work each morning.

The Hollywood Reporter is quoting the New South Wales Deputy Premier (yes, the Deputy Premier) Andrew Stoner that production on The Wolverine will begin in August in Sydney, New South WalAustralia, Jackman’s hometown.

This is fortuitous for the area, as the production takes the place of Alex Proyas’ aborted Paradise Lost and the non-renewed Terra Nova TV show.

The sequel’s is supposedly set in modern-day Japan. It is not known if the Asian nation will be recreated on the English speaking continent, or if the production will later relocate the 11,000 km to island nation.

The film is directed by James Mangold and is set for a July 2013 release.
