The remake of Sam Raimi’s cult classic The Evil Dead has announced its first cast member – Lily Collins.
The Blind Side actress will be playing Mia, one a group of friends who find much more than they bargain for when they are attacked by demonic forces at a cabin deep in the woods. Mia is the younger sister of the as yet uncast David, who seems to be this version’s Ash. Apparently the death of their mother has taken a toll on her as the reasons the friends gather at the cabin is to help Mia kick her drug addiction.
Fede Alvarez is set to make this his feature film directorial debut with a script he co-wrote with Rodo Sayagues. Diablo Cody has contributed a rewrite.
