Alice Eve Offered Role In STAR TREK 2

Alice Eve has been cast in J J Abrams’s Star Trek 2. Although her role has not been announced, it is being reported that she will be playing a new character and not one seen prior to Abrams’s 2009 reboot of the franchise.

Several actresses were being considered for the role with Theresa Palmer and Hayley Atwell being two of those others being considered.

Eve’s feature resume is a little scant, with her biggest credit being the lead in She’s Out Of My League and a supporting role in Sex & The City 2. She’ll be joining returning cast members Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Mark Urban as Dr. McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Simon Pegg as Scotty. Although he has not been given an offer, Benicio del toro is reportedly still in contention to play the film’s villain.

Star Trek 2 goes into production in January with a May 2013 premier scheduled. Before that though, we’ll get to see Eve in the Edgar Allan Poe adaption The Raven and Men In Black III.
