Wyatt Knight, 56

Wyatt Knight, the actor best known for playing one of the teenagers in the Porky’s comedies, has been found dead in Hawaii last week, it was announced yesterday, the victim of an apparent suicide. According to reports, in 2003 Knight had undergone a bone marrow transplant for advanced non-Hodgkins lymphoma. An autopsy has been performed by Maui officials, though the results have not been released. He was 56.

As Tommy Turner, Knight was part of the gang of high schoolers who continually clashed with the rednecked owner of the local brothel/gambling den in director Bob Clark’s coming-of-age Porky’s comedies. However, Knight was unable to parlay his role in the successful comedy trilogy into more film work and the remainder of his career was spent in television with guest appearances on such shows as TJ Hooker, Family Ties, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Renegade.
