Since the last Die Hard film featured hero John McClane’s grown-up daughter, it seems only fair that his other child, son John Jr., should be getting some screen time in the upcoming fifth installment A Good Day To Die Hard. And that role has become one of the most sought after parts in Hollywood right now.
Deadline is reporting that producers have narrowed down their choices for the role to just four candidates – Liam Hemsworth, Aaron Paul, James Badge Dale and D.J. Cotrona.
Interesting choices all. Hemsworth will next be seen in next year’s anticipated adaption of the novel The Hunger Games. Paul is currently one of the stars in AMC’s popular Breaking Bad, and Deadline notes that his filming schedule for the show could be in conflict with when producers want to go foward with Production on the film. Dale and Cotruna are both solid choices who could really use the career boost that this film could likely give to any actor who lands the role.
A Good Day To Die Hard will feature Bruce Willis’s John McClane travelling to Russia and getting involved with his son in some sort of brouhaha that will invariably involve lots of explosions, gun fights and increasingly more unbelievable series of stunt set pieces. The script is currently being worked on by GI Joe: The Rise Of Cobra “auteur” Skip Woods.
