DARK KNIGHT RISES Will Not Shooting At OWS Protests

As production on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises moves into New York City this week to begin its final bit of production comes word that one rumored shooting location is not on the schedule. Despite reports that circulated a few weeks ago, it is looking as if the film will not shoot any scenes down near Zuccotti Park, home base of the current Occupy Wall Street movement.

Entertainment Weekly is quoting a Warner Brothers rep as saying that the production will not be shooting at or near the the Zuccotti Park protests.

And while the film may not be shooting in Zuccotti Park, it is scheduled to shoot on Wall Street this weekend under its fake title of Magnus Rex. Casting notices for the NYC shoot call for extras with “military and/or law enforcement training/experience, weapons training, and/or martial arts training.” I’m thinking they may be shooting something similar to the riot scenes that were shot over the summer in Pittsburgh.

Previously, the film has done location work in Jodhpur, India, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
