Anyone who sat to the end of the credits of Captain America: The First Avenger probably knows why there wasn’t any Marvel panels at San Diego Comic Con. But this doesn’t mean that there was no promotion for The Avengers at the show.
Every day, Marvel released promotional posters for the 2012 film. The posters featured a painted version of one of the members of the team. For members who have already had their solo films come out, grace notes from their films fill in the background. For those who don’t have their films yet, well, those are easter eggs for the comic fans.
We see two aircraft, one behind Black Widow, one behind the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents. Could one of these be the Avengers’ Quinjet? (The Avengers very distinctive airplane from the comic book is called a “quinjet.”) Is the other the S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli-carrier? (S.H.I.E.L.D., in the comics, has a number of floating fortresses called Heli-carriers)
What is known is that we get a good look at Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and the Hulk redesign for the film. That’s why the Hulk poster was held until today, the last day of the convention. In addition, all the posters show the costume designs and redesigns for the characters in the film.
So, here they are. Enjoy!
