Christina Hendricks Joins Chris Colfer’s STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

Hot off her second Emmy-nomination for her work on AMC’s Mad Men, Christina Hendricks has landed a role in Glee Emmy-nominated actor-turned-writer Chris Colfer’s coming-of-age comedy Struck By Lightning.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of the casting, along with that of Dermot Mulroney and Sarah Hyland, though there is no word as to what part any of them will be playing. Already in the cast are Allison Janney, Angela Kinsey, Allie Grant, Ashley Rickards, Polly Bergen, Brad Henke, Robbie Amell and Carter Jenkins.

The film opens with Colfer’s high school character being struck and killed by a lightning bolt and then proceeds to tell in flashback how he blackmailed his fellow students into contributing to the literary magazine he was putting together. Brian Dannelly, who helmed the 2004 conservative Christian high school satire Saved, will be directing.
